A Blessed Friendship
Your
greatest asset is not the quantity of your friends, rather the quality of your
friends.
Some
friends are for a reason and others just for a season.
Run in
the company of a happy few.
i'm truly
blessed to have known coach. She reminds me of Coach Marvin Goldberg from
Resilient Life. She inspires me a lot, mentally and spiritually. I enjoy my
running sessions with her; never fail to teach me something new be it a sports
routine, drill or quality in life.
I don't
know why but I just blurted out to her so naturally about my health condition. I
have problems telling even to my closest friends.
I can
never seem to hold anything back from her.
Every
week, without fail, she reminds me to drink more water and take my meals
regularly. Naggy like a mother? NOPE. I feel loved by a sister.
I've
always wished for an older sibling to watch over me when I was a kid, an older
sibling to protect me from thugs and bullies in school.
I never
had a friend who constantly reminds me of watching my health like she does.
She was
thoughtful and kind, to include a short prayer for my health while saying Grace
at dinner. Had to hold back my tears; tears are free-flow these days.
I can
tell her everything under the sun and just be myself, I don't need to hide
behind those pretty make-up and pretend to be an angel.
I can
share about my delinquent days, be honest about my character and attitude that
she has not seen and not fear that she will judge me.
She
always listens well and offers solutions to my problems.
She is
like a God-sent angel.
I felt a
little better after spitting out my health condition to her and after the prayer
she offered for me.
I look
forward to our runs every week, it's the only way to maintain my sanity.
It is
better to have just a friend of great value than to have many friends with no
values, a true friend instead of many acquaintances.
