Me: Not very far, especially when it is a one-sided affair. (When the other party isn't reciprocating).

The friendship bloomed from mere acquaintance to buddies.
However, due to one's new committments and responsibilities, the friendship drifted apart.

Despite my personal committments, I still bother squeezing out time for friends whom I care.

I have my own set of workload, problems and studies too, but I care more for my friends. I will still make time for them in spite of my brains being squeezed dry for tests & paperwork.

I'm tired from hearing your "I'll confirm again", "I may have something on", "You see, actually I have plans with ...., but if it's cancelled then...."

I'm just tired from you turning down our appointments.

I've been going through a hell load of shit but you are no longer there to listen.

I won't approach you again, because I am afraid that you will tell me "You see, actually I am busy..." or "I'll call you back" but you never will, for you never did whenever you said you would.

It is a pity that our friendship is fading away.

It's not that our friendship didn't mean a thing to me, but i'm just too tired from being dragged down by my own commitments as well, just like you.

Friends are like money, they come and go, they are hard to maintain/ keep.
Friendship is like stockmarket; shares rise and fall (there are always ups and downs in a friendship). Do you expect any returns?paybacks? (Are you expecting anything in return from the friendship?)
When you invest wrongly (on the wrong person), your hard-earned money goes down the drain (your time & effort goes to waste).
