I never got down to getting myself a dog despite how much I love dogs.
I knew I would never have enough time for it and it would be very unfair to leave it alone at home.

More and more dogs are being abandoned by their owners.
Very often, these people walked past the pet shop, get attracted by the cute pups on the display and buy them (out of impulsivity).
Some parents buy them as companions for their children.
For the first 2 years, the pups will be walked, cuddled and played with.
When they grow up, they are deemed as
'No longer cute, time consuming and high maintanence'.
Some owners will neglect the dogs, kick them aside when the dogs seek attention.
They try means and ways to get rid of these dogs.
Some leave them at the parks or by the roadside or even dump them in the back alleys.
These dogs who have been abandoned from their homes have no knowledge of taking care of themselves.
Sometimes, they die of starvation, get hit by cars then die from the injuries.

My bro took in an abandoned Shih Tzu recently.
Someone found it on the streets and brought it to the pet shop my bro was working.
She had some eye problems which could not be cured.
We supposed that was why she was abandoned.

A dog is also living thing, but many treat it as a temporary companion or a soft toy
(One which can be easily dumped after having enough fun with it).
Owning a dog is not just about having fun with it.
A dog lover would shower the dog with love, provide food and a shelter which is clean and safe, care for it when it falls sick and pick up its poop
(Some owners simply leave their poop on the grass or ground for people to tread on),
Not abandon it when you think the dog is sick and useless.
If you do not have the confidence of caring it for life, do not not even attempt to adopt one.
Please do not be one of those jerks who just want to be dog owners.
