The BIG DAY

I pray you'll be our eyes,
and watch us where we go
And help us to be wise in times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way
Lead us to the place, guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe
Ina and Willy finalli found each other.
Their paths crossed and have come together as one.
i feel really happy for 'em.
tears filled my eyes as i see 'em walked down the aisle and declared their love for each other.

mass and lunch reception was held at St. Ignatius.
the in-charge, Cuthbert (we call him the Cut Bert/ Cupboard) was pretty hard to work with.
the sword bearers were there as early as 8am to practise.
the 'Sisters' arrived at 8.45am to set up the reception area.
went down to the swordbearers' car to deposit our barang barang.

waited for Kamal to send the necessities over from Ina's place.
wedding booklets,album,corsages,wristlets,guest lists and stuff...

put on our wristlets and set up the registration booth, laid the guest book and stationeries.
stole a nearby easle for the wedding album as Cuthbert shot a glare at me.

then came boxes of wedding favours.
Junna was checking the guest names against the guest list,i was distributing the wedding favours and Angie was receiving the Ang Baos...

just then, Christine came with news that Cuthbert doesn't like the idea of distributing the wedding favours before mass.
he insisted that no food items should be brought into the main church.Such rigidity...
we held back the favours and laid them in the function hall where lunch reception was held.

went in moments before mass started.

The Prayer by Celine Dion & Andrea Brocelli was played as the ring bearer, flower girls, bridesmaid and Ina walked in with her dad.
The CD has a lil technical problem, but that didn't really affect the atmosphere.

Fr. John Bosco celebrated mass.
Jennifer was the commentator,
Marge was the cantor and the choir was from Church of the Holy Cross.
Helen and i were lectors,Helen read out prayers of the faithful as well.
we had some issues with Cuthbert regarding the lectoring, whether to bow to the altar or the tabanacle and bowing once or twice.

saw Takumi, Hidemi & their parents!
Ina invited 'em.
managed to catch Takumi's attention for photo taking.

directed the guests to the function hall for lunch.
the food was quite good.
we took group photos, and with the newly weds.
after lunch,we transferred the things to Kamal's car,
did some clearing up and headed to Willy's new place for tea ceremony.

their new place is very spacious.
Thankfully it's very near James' place.
i forgot to bring my evening dress when we rushed off to church in the morning.
he went back home to collect my dress for me and met us back at Willy's place.

Willy's mum put on a necklace which she bought around Ina's neck after being offered tea.
After offering tea to Willy's parents,
the couple was offered tea by Willy's younger brother.

we headed down to Ina's place for tea cermony.
After offering tea to Ina's parents and her relatives,
it was time for Ina's siblings, Lorna & Eugene to offer tea to the newly weds.
we had some snacks and rest,
presented our handmade album to the Ina & Willy.
surprise surprise surprise!
we collated Ina's childhood photos and Willy's photos and made them into an album.
we took pics beside the wedding car.
red london cab with a pair of forever bear in the chinese 'Kua'.

we headed on to Carlton Hotel to wash up,dress up for the dinner.
time was running out,we were later than we were supposed to be at Chef's Chan restaurant.
quickly set up the reception counter and put things in place.
guest started swarming in around 7pm.
Thankfully Ina's mum was there to help us identify their relatives to cut short the waiting time.

James surprised me with a stalk of rose and a box of ferrero rocher,so sweet of him...
it was our 26th month anniversary...

Ina & Willy walked in to Lee Hon's Forever Love.
Ina wore a sweet pink cheongsam and Willy,a mandarin collar suit.

Dinner was fantastic,i loved the food, especially the Buttered Prawns and the Roasted Chicken!

had champagn toasting, then followed by thank you speech given by Ina & Willy.
then came the exciting part....

they sang Adam Sandler's Grow Old With You.
it had been fun choosing the song for 'em.
Willy was scared off by Richard Marx & Donna Lewis's At the Beginning..it was way too fast.

At the end of the dinner,we insisted the newly weds to share a piece of ginger paste tart on the spot.

Ina assured us that despite her going to the morning session next year, she'll still cook for us on thursdays when she's supposed to.
went back to the hotel room, packed our stuff and headed home.
